Mid-America Modified Championship

The 2006 racing season at the Batesville Speedway will continue Wednesday, March 22 with the 10th Annual Mid-America Modified Championship. The four night run will bring an estimated 100 of the top Open-Wheel Modified’s in the Midwest to the track.

The event will culminate a three weekend run for these type of cars, as they competed in two other big events in the region, with the biggest being at the Batesville Speedway. With a $50,000 purse on the line, and $10,000 earmarked for the winner, the best the Midwest has to offer will be at the Batesville Speedway.

Wednesday night will give entrants an opportunity to practice from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. On Thursday, there will be hot lap sessions from 6:00 until 8:00, with time trial qualifying to follow. Time trial qualifying is a rarity for Modified drivers, so Thursday will be an opportunity to guarantee a starting spot at the front of one of Friday’s heat races. Those heats will begin at 7:00 on Friday. Finally, it will be a 7:00 start time on Saturday night with Last Chance Qualifying events. A 50 Lap main event will pit the best 24 cars of the weekend against each other in the feature that will pay the winner $10,000 and still guarantee at least $1,000 to every starter.
