Drew Wilmot Joins Torex Retail North America

Drew Wilmot has joined Torex Retail North America (TRNA) as a senior configuration consultant and will be an important member of the Compass Planning implementation team. The team will provide support for the implementation of the Compass suite of products that includes Merchandise/Financial Planning, Assortment Planning, Allocation, Visual Assortment Management, and Size/Pack Optimization.

Prior to joining TRNA, Wilmot was with JDA Software Group as a senior member of the Consulting Services Group from a business and technical capacity, implementing various software products including Arthur Planning at a number of leading retailers in the U.S. such as Dicks Sporting Goods, Dollar Tree Stores, L.L. Bean, and American Eagle Outfitters. Before JDA, Wilmot also worked for retailers Staples and Hills Stores.

Compass Planning is an award-winning merchandise and assortment planning solution installed in leading retailers in the United States and Europe including: Ann Taylor and Dots in the U.S.; Cortefiel in Spain; Sonae Group in Portugal; Marks & Spencer, Focus, Ethel Austin and House of Fraser, all in the U.K.

Hawes joins Parade’s All-America first team

Hawes joins Parade's All-America first team Seattle Prep's Spencer Hawes, who plays in the McDonald's All-America Game tonight, has been named a first-team Parade All-American. Hawes is on the West team for the 7 o'clock game in San Diego that will be televised on ESPN. The Parade Magazine honor is just the latest for Hawes, a 7-footer who is headed to the University of Washington, where his father, Jeff, and uncle, Steve, played. Hawes is the third player in three years from the state of Washington to make the Parade first team. Last year, Seattle Prep teammate Martell Webster made the 10-man first team.

Gen. Tommy Franks joins Bank of America board NEW YORK, Dec 13 (Reuters) - Bank of America Corp. (BAC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Tuesday that retired U.S. Army Gen. Tommy Franks has joined the board of directors of the No. 2 U.S. bank. Franks, 60, has nearly 40 years of military service and was the commander in chief of the United States Central Command during combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2003. Cash America Raises 1Q Expectations

Cash America Raises 1Q Expectations International Inc., one of the largest providers of non-recourse loans, said Thursday it expects first-quarter earnings to be better than it previously forecast, aided by higher retail sales and stronger margins. Cash America now expects to post first-quarter earnings of 49 cents to 50 cents per share, compared to its previous forecast of 43 cents to 45 cents per share. In the 2005 first quarter, the company earned 39 cents per share. Cash America said it saw higher levels of retail sales and stronger gross profit margins during the quarter, partly thanks to higher prevailing market prices of gold.
