Fliers pick Las Vegas McCarran as favorite airport

McCarran International, the sprawling airport serving fast-growing Las Vegas, topped travelers list of favorite big North American airports, satisfaction tracker J.D. Power said in a report issued here Thursday.

Lines for check-in and security checks move quickly, terminals are clean and its easy to get around, says Jim Gaz of J.D. Power. The airport, serving more than 44 million passengers annually, increased the number of security checkpoints to 34 from 25 in the last 16 months. Its just an efficient airport, he says.

In separate measures of traveler satisfaction with airlines, New York-based JetBlue received top marks among four discounters. Houston-based Continental topped the list of eight traditional airlines.
