Veterans honor Americas fight for freedom
While some celebrate Americas independence with parades, fireworks and barbecues, for those who fought for our countrys freedom, the holiday has a different meaning. They see it as a way to remember veterans of the present, past and future who have fought to protect our country.
On the Fourth of July at the VFW Post 10097, bagpipes play Amazing Grace as the American flag waves in the wind.
I fly it everyday, everyday, said WWII veteran Edward Ellyatt.
The red, white and blue waves for past, present and future veterans.
And the stars, each one of the 50 represent the people that have passed and gone and etched in my memory forever, said Ellyatt.
Since then, younger troops have filled their shoes.
Freedom hasnt come easy, but for those who risked their lives in the past say it was well worth it in the present.
