PGA of America unveils the 2006 United States Junior Ryder Cup team
The 2006 United States Junior Ryder Cup Team has been finalized following the conclusion of the final qualifying event, the 31st Westfield Junior PGA Championship at Westfield Group Country Club.
The final two spots for the team were granted to the winners and runners-up in the boys and girls divisions: Joe Monte of Chantilly, Va.; Tony Mapu Finau of Salt Lake City, Utah; Brittany Altomare of Shrewsbury, Mass.; and Kristen Schelling of Mesa, Ariz.
The Junior Ryder Cup will be contested against Europe and Great Britain, Sept. 18-19, at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales.

Rice senior Eddie Degerman, junior Josh Rodriguez and sophomore Joe Savery, the trio of Owls who helped the baseball team earn the number five preseason ranking by Collegiate Baseball, were selected to the magazine's 2006 Louisville Slugger preseason all-America teams the publication announced on Tuesday.

UNDATED Oklahoma center Courtney Paris has become the first freshman selected for The Associated Press All-America team in women's basketball.
L-S-U senior Seimone Augustus was the lone unanimous choice on the team released today, and the only first-team repeater from last year. Also chosen were North Carolina junior Ivory Latta, Rutgers senior Cappie Pondexter and Baylor senior Sophia Young.
Since the A-P began selecting women's All-America teams in the 1994-95 season, four freshmen had made the second and third teams, including Augustus, a third-team pick in 2003.

Texas junior forward P.J. Tucker was named to the Associated Press All-America second team on Monday.
J.J. Redick of Duke and Adam Morrison of Gonzaga were the only unanimous selections. The other players named to the first team were Shelden Williams of Duke, Randy Foye of Villanova and Brandon Roy of Washington.
Tucker, the Big 12's player of the year, averaged 16.1 points and 9.5 rebounds this season to help lead the Longhorns to a school-record 30 victories.

Bank of America Unveils Digital Imaging
Bank of America Corp., the nations second largest financial institution, said Monday its rolling out a digital imaging system that will enable customers to put checks and cash into its ATMs without an envelope or deposit slip.
The bank, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., said its national rollout of the new machines will begin in the Washington, D.C., and Atlanta areas. It added that it would install the new ATMs _ automated teller machines _ later this year in the New York City, Phoenix and San Diego areas.
