Latin America fast-becoming top investment destination for Singapore firms: IE Singapore
Latin America, especially Mexico and Brazil, is fast-becoming a top investment destination for Singapore firms.
According to a survey by IE Singapore, 86 percent of Singapore-based businesses there reported profits last year.
The survey also showed that the wholesale sector drew the most investments from Singaporeans, followed by transport and manufacturing.

Singapore sailors win Team Racing Nations Cup in South America
Singapores Optimist sailors have won the Team Racing Nations Cup at the IODA South American Championship.
They won all their preliminary races against Colombia, Puerto Rico, Mexico and defending champs Bermuda.
The wins were made harder by the fact that the Singapore sailors had to go through re-matches against Colombia and Mexico, but still came out tops the second time round.
Singapore is taking this regatta as training for this years IODA Worlds Championship, so the extra races came in handy.

State's Wayne Hails Economic Growth in Latin America
Miami -- Rapid economic growth in Latin America has helped some 13 million people in the region escape poverty in 2004 and 2005, says E. Anthony Wayne, the U.S. State Department's assistant secretary for economic and business affairs.
Speaking December 7 at the Miami Conference on the Caribbean Basin, Wayne said Latin America hit a 24-year high in 2004 of 5.6 percent annual growth in its gross domestic product. India wants to play home games in N.America, Middle East
India's cricket board aims to rake in $200 million by playing some home matches in neutral venues over the next five years, including North America, a top Indian board official said on Friday.
The board has invited bids for global media rights for all matches India will play on neutral grounds (belonging to non-ICC member countries) for a period of five years.
